Gastroenterology & Nutrition, P.C. was founded in 2008 by Dr. Samuel Davidoff and has served the Forest Hills community ever since, from its office at 108-16 72nd Avenue. The name is the promise: treat the digestive problem properly, and treat what you eat as part of the medicine.
Patients come to us for reflux, abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, and hemorrhoids, and for complex conditions: inflammatory bowel disease including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, liver diseases, and pancreatic problems. We evaluate every patient the same way, with a thorough history and targeted exam first, then blood work, stool tests, imaging, or endoscopy only as your case actually requires.
When a procedure is needed, it happens on-site. Colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, capsule endoscopy, and hemorrhoid banding are all performed in our own endoscopy suite, accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities to the same safety and equipment standards as hospital-based surgical centers. For colonoscopy and upper endoscopy, sedation is propofol, with an anesthesiology professional monitoring you throughout. Capsule endoscopy needs no sedation at all: you swallow the capsule in our office and go about your day. Hemorrhoid banding is a quick procedure done awake. Between Dr. Davidoff and Dr. Israel, the practice has performed roughly 1,500 capsule endoscopies over the past decade, a small-intestine test many GI offices don’t offer at all.
