On-Site, In Forest Hills
Comprehensive Care, On-Site
We take pride in offering comprehensive gastroenterology services on-site for patient convenience. Some of the key services and procedures available at our Forest Hills practice include
Endoscopy
Common concerns: Colon cancer screening, rectal bleeding, family history of colon cancer
We perform upper endoscopy (EGD) to examine the esophagus, stomach, and upper small intestine. This helps diagnose ulcers, gastritis, H. pylori infections, celiac disease, and more. The procedure is quick, and patients are sedated for comfort.
Colonoscopy
Common concerns: Persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained stomach pain
As both a diagnostic and preventive tool, colonoscopy allows us to visualize the colon and rectum. We use the latest high-definition scopes for polyp detection and removal. Our prep instructions are easy to follow, and our team supports you through the process (we know nobody likes prep, but we make it as smooth as possible!
Hemorrhoid
Common concerns: Rectal pain, bleeding, itching, discomfort sitting
For patients suffering from hemorrhoids, we offer both medical management and in-office procedures (such as banding) to eliminate hemorrhoids and alleviate pain and bleeding.
Capsule Endoscopy
Common concerns: Heartburn, regurgitation, chest pain, chronic cough
For evaluating the small intestine, we offer capsule endoscopy. A pill-sized camera you swallow that takes pictures of your digestive tract. This is useful for obscure GI bleeding or Crohn's disease assessment.
Nutrition
Common concerns: Colon cancer screening, rectal bleeding, family history of colon cancer
True to our name, we integrate nutrition guidance into our care. Our team can counsel you on dietary modifications for GERD, IBS, celiac disease, or other conditions. A personalized diet can significantly improve GI symptoms, and we're here to help you implement it.
Find Your Starting Point
Find the right visit for your digestive concern.

Start with an upper endoscopy evaluation to check for reflux esophagitis, ulcers, H. pylori, or Barrett's esophagus.

Schedule a screening colonoscopy. Average-risk patients begin at age 45; if a parent or sibling had colon cancer, start at age 40 or 10 years before that relative's diagnosis.

Schedule an office consultation. After a thorough history and exam, your gastroenterologist may recommend blood work, stool tests, imaging, or endoscopic evaluation depending on your symptoms.
Request an appointment
Schedule a hemorrhoid evaluation. We treat internal and external hemorrhoids and can rule out other causes of rectal bleeding.

A capsule endoscopy looks at the small intestine, which is 22 feet long and cannot be reached by upper endoscopy or colonoscopy. We have performed roughly 1,500 capsule endoscopies in the past decade.

We tailor a treatment plan based on your specific symptoms, objective findings from tests, and your preferences. Treatments range from dietary changes to biologics.

When you visit our Forest Hills gastroenterology clinic, you can expect the highest standard of care. Here's what sets us apart:

Our doctors are board-certified gastroenterologists with decades of combined experience diagnosing and treating GI conditions. You'll receive care from physicians who have trained at top institutions and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in gastroenterology.

Whether you need a routine colonoscopy, evaluation of abdominal pain, or ongoing management of a chronic condition, we've got you covered. Our clinic offers a full range of gastroenterology services on-site, including diagnostic procedures in a state-of-the-art endoscopy suite.

Located in the heart of Queens (Forest Hills), we are easily accessible by public transportation and have parking nearby. We offer extended hours on weekdays and even Sunday appointments, so you can see a GI specialist at your convenience.

We take the time to listen to your concerns and answer all your questions. From the moment you walk in, our friendly staff makes you feel at ease. We understand digestive issues can be sensitive, so we prioritize your comfort and privacy.

Our practice is equipped with advanced technology for endoscopic procedures and diagnostics. We perform procedures in a safe, modern endoscopy center (with hospital-grade safety and sterilization) so you don't have to go to a hospital for routine GI care.

We proudly serve the diverse Queens community. Our staff is multilingual. We offer services in English, Russian, and more to ensure you can communicate comfortably about your health.

We accept most major insurance plans (including Medicare and popular PPO/HMO plans), and we help verify your coverage. Quality GI care should be accessible, and our team will assist you with any insurance or referral needs.
Conditions
At Gastroenterology & Nutrition, P.C., we diagnose and treat a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions and symptoms, including:
Chronic heartburn or acid reflux can indicate gastroesophageal reflux disease. We provide evaluation and treatments to relieve symptoms and prevent complications.
If you experience recurring abdominal pain, bloating, or irregular bowel habits, our doctors will investigate potential causes like IBS, food intolerances, or other GI disorders and customize a management plan for you.
We manage complex conditions like Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, helping patients control inflammation and achieve remission.
Being a private practice, we offer prompt scheduling including early morning appointments on weekdays and even Sunday morning slots to fit your busy life. Unlike a big hospital or clinic, you'll consult directly with your GI doctor before and after the colonoscopy. We'll personally call you with results and next steps. Continuity of care is a hallmark of our practice.
As our name suggests, we look at the whole picture of gastroenterology and nutrition. If your colonoscopy reveals any issues (like ulcerative colitis or polyps), we'll not only treat them but also counsel you on diet and preventive care going forward. Our aim is to keep your digestive system healthy for the long run, not just perform a one-time test.
"Most people don't come in because they love the test. They come because something doesn't feel right. My job is to listen carefully, choose the right procedure, and make sure you understand what happens at every step."
